Aisthema (from the greek αἴσθημα, "perception") is an open access electronic Journal, based on a blind peer-reviewed process, published by the Department of Historical-Philosophical Studies "Pasquale Orlando" at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy, section "St. Thomas Aquinas”, in Naples. It aims to promote the philosophical research through the dissemination of texts which, devoted to classic or contemporary issues and going beyond the fences of the rigid academic curricula, can look at the intersection of knowledges, methodologies and languages diversified. The Journal proposes itself as a tool for the promotion of the philosophical sciences. A scientific journal that, despite being born in the context of the “Universitas”, beyond any self-referentiality wants to confront in fairness, independence and freedom with new forms and other "places" – not necessarily "canonical" and institutional – of theoretical elaboration.
